Job Description:

The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. You will manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and revenue recognition. You will be a crucial part of the company and will foster trust across the organization. Your responsibilities will include: Manage the daily activities for accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, and become the owner of the general ledger. Preparation of month-end and quarter-end financial reporting for the division as well as to the parent company, including the consolidation of all subsidiaries. Work to increase accuracy and timeliness in reporting as the Company grows and scales rapidly, including the enhancement of existing software or identifying new software. Oversee purchasing function and maintain relationships with key external vendors and partners. Support key operational and compliance processes and programs. Support year-end audits and tax filings prepared by third party auditors or consultants. Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies as the company scales commercially. Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system. Assist with the evaluation of new technical accounting standards that apply to the business including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and R&D expense tracking. Lead and inspire a team to achieve high performance and meet departmental objectives. Set clear goals and expectations for team members and provide regular feedback. Adapt and respond to changing needs of the department as it scales. Onboard and mentor new team members as the department expands. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting 5 years of progressive accounting management experience Experience in budgeting, planning, financial and operational reporting High level of ability with spreadsheets and other analytical tools Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Ability to create and maintain cooperative, team building relationships Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Ability to work independently with limited supervision Experience supporting HR functions EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
