(CUC) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor
of Nursing - Medical Surgical. The University seeks a
forward-thinking and bold leader to enthusiastically embrace its

education. The Assistant Professor of Nursing - Medical Surgical
will work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Associate
Director of Nursing, faculty, staff, and administration to support
student success, and establish and execute the strategic priorities
for the department in alignment with the University's strategic
plan. This is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position.
Responsibilities/Duties: Primary responsibilities include: Develop
and deliver curriculum, evaluate student learning, and contribute
to the advancement of nursing knowledge through scholarship and
service Teaching both the theory and clinical components of Adult
Health nursing and companion courses as needed. Contribute to the
development of the department and the college through
interdisciplinary, collaborative teaching across the university and
the community it serves. Active participation on divisional and
university committees. Advise and mentor students in all stages of
their educational journey. Skill Sets: Exhibits a service mentality
toward all stakeholders Utilizes effective, professional, accurate,
and timely communication with stakeholders Demonstrates an
organized, flexible, self-directed, work ethic Possesses strong
analytical reasoning and writing skills Demonstrates the ability to
maintain subject matter currency Demonstrates the ability to
effectively work with students with a wide range of skills,
motivations, academic and vocational goals Creates an environment
dedicated to problem solving and positivity Exhibits personal and
professional integrity in all interactions Possesses a commitment
to inclusivity Minimum Experience Required: Five years of
experience in clinical nursing practice. Three years of experience
in nursing education or equivalent hospital education experience.
Knowledge of state and national program accreditation.
Demonstration of progressive roles and experience in teaching and
learning. Teaching experience in baccalaureate level program with
curriculum development and assessment. Evidence of self-development
through participation in continuing education offerings, advanced
study, scholarly pursuit, and/or professional and clinical
activities. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the
position. Education Requirements: Master's Degree or higher with a
major in Nursing Current state of Illinois Registered Professional
Nurse License Compensation and Benefits: Starting range and faculty
rank is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
