Job Description Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical and electrical systems. Your role will involve troubleshooting and repairing various equipment, including tanks, pumps, agitators, and pneumatic conveyors. You will also conduct preventative maintenance tasks and ensure that all systems function optimally. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair tanks, pumps, agitators, and pneumatic conveyors from a mechanical standpoint. Perform major repairs such as replacing locked-out pumps and unclogging pneumatic conveyor lines. Troubleshoot electrically with single and three-phase motors ranging from 120-480V. Re-wire motors as necessary. Conduct preventative maintenance, which includes changing out motors, greasing bearings, and replacing belts. Expect to spend 30% of the day performing preventative maintenance tasks. Essential Skills Three years of experience in mechanical maintenance, particularly with pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to read and interpret prints and blueprints. Previous experience conducting preventative maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with maintenance mechanics, industrial maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting. Proficiency in handling hydraulics and pneumatics. Technicians work the 3rd shift from 10 PM to 6 AM, often logging 55-65 hours per week. The maintenance department currently consists of a supervisor and one technician on the first shift. Appropriate attire includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and a long-sleeved shirt. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
