SummaryThe Director, IT Applications, manages multiple teams of IT
staff responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and
ongoing support of enterprise level software applications. Manages
and mentors Team Leads, Architects, Analysts and Developers of
software applications. Streamlines and adheres to configuration and
coding standards, ASAP method, waterfall, and agile project
delivery, functional and technical documentation standards and
testing protocols.Manages System Change Requests, its
prioritization, development and release. Partners with IT and
Business Process Owners (BPO) to understand and implement IT and
Business Strategy. Manage, design and implement large-sized
technology solutions for business needs involving applications,
interfaces and data conversions.Team Management
- Manages varying levels of IT personnel possessing software
development, computing architecture, and help to define and execute
long term strategy.
- Fosters and maintains an engaging team and company
atmosphere.
- Develop and support employee training and education that align
with IT strategy.
- Recruitment, selection, performance management, retention, and
development of IT professionals to meet the business needs now and
in the future.
- Provides regular feedback and coaching to his/her team
including on an individual (one-on-one) basis.
- Makes salary, performance rewards, and other employment
decisions.Application and Technology Management
- Prioritizes, manages projects, development and implementation
of enhancements and/or changes.
- Manages the Software Change Requests and manages its priority,
development and software releases.
- Streamlines and adheres to coding standards, procedures and
techniques and contribute to the technical code documentation.
Reviews and sign-offs on changes.
- Works with external vendors to ensure superior service
delivery.
- Partners with the IT and BPO to define Service Level Agreements
(SLAs) and negotiate appropriate support commitments for existing
applications.
- Manages delivery of enterprise application vendors and service
providers. Maintains knowledge on product direction and future
offerings of enterprise application vendors.
- Oversees unit and system testing for a platform / technology /
application.
- Responsible for IT technology strategy and budget planning as
relates to assigned applications.
- Ensures application systems and systems architecture remain in
compliance with corporate and departmental standards and
regulations.
- Manages the complete life cycle, from inception to successful
implementation, of enterprise wide applications.
- Keeps abreast with new technologies / programming
languages.
- Adheres to LEAN methodology and best practices for application
support, maintenance and enhancements.Business Partnership
- Collaborates with IT and Business Process Owners (BPO) to plan
and deliver systems, enhancements, and process improvement across
all functional areas.
- Develop and maintain a strong business relationship with all
functional teams.
- Works closely with the business units and functional area
managers to address technology questions, issues and needs.
- Partners with various business functions to provide critical
suggestions and insights on how to streamline various functional
processes using applications and technology solutions.
- Advises on the feasibility of potential future projects. A wide
degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Ensures alignment of projects with Business and IT
Strategy.Education, Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- 12 years of IT experience
- IT Management: 7-10 years
- Knowledge of business application systems, systems
infrastructure, customer relationship management (CRM), eCommerce
applications, Document management systems, Manufacturing Execution
Systems, and general business operations and functions.
- Managing information technology projects.
- Developing project work plans and budgets.
- Developing professional level verbal and written
presentations.
- Contract Negotiations with software vendors.
