Job Description:

Supports and guides Electrophysiology (EP), prep & recovery, & EP staff in the daily operations. Team leader coordinates the daily schedule to support patient flow and throughput. Team leader assumes responsibilities for the unit in the absence of the Director. Generally works Monday through Friday with weekends and holidays off. Contacts physicians with any delays and or abnormal lab values. On call hours are optional based on departmental needs.

  • * Monitors and maintains unit for regulatory compliance at all times, including such items as staffing levels, chart audits, environment of care, etc.
  • Monitors EP supplies to ensure sufficient inventory within designated PAR levels. Provides input on capital equipment based on budgetary goals.
  • Provides monthly/annual statistics for the EP area.
  • Supports ICD/ NCDR registry data input for accuracy.
  • Coordinates with physicians scheduled cases based on workflow of patients assuring timely procedure completion based on multidisciplinary team members, anesthesia, cath prep and recovery team members. Adjusts schedules to maintain throughput of patient flow.
  • Prioritizes cases throughout the day to meet physician and patient needs.
  • Interviews new hires with director to determine the best candidates for the team.
  • Supports on boarding of new hires & providing input to employee evaluations.
  • Participates in daily bed & safety huddle as needed.
  • Assume direct patient care duties in the EP area while collaborating with other health care disciplines as needed.
  • Ensures patient satisfaction by rounding on patients and monitoring patient satisfaction scores.
  • Provides clinical oversight to assigned patient population to include staff's competency and assignments and scheduling training and development events.
  • Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned.
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)


    Thorough knowledge of clinical assessment and medical equipment in area of EP
    Ability to work independently as in a team environment.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    Ability to multi-task.
    Ability to effectively direct the work of others.
    Must have a positive attitude and be courteous, kind compassionate and caring.

    All post high school education must have been obtained from a recognized College or University. Additional education or related experience may be substituted for requirements on a year for year basis should the substitution not conflict with State or Board certification/license requirements.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a closely related field Preferred


    • One (1) year Charge Nurse Required
    • Five (5) years Critical Care, Telemetry, Cath Lab experience Required


      • BLS Certification Required
      • ACLS Certification Required
      • IN Licensed Registered Nurse Required
      • RCES, RCIS, or CCRN Certification Preferred
