registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years MS Oncology RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. Provide expert nursing care
in a dynamic Medical-Surgical Oncology setting with a focus on
orthopedic and surgical post-op patients. This contract opportunity
is based in Wheeling, WV, offering 12-hour night shifts on a
rotating weekend and holiday schedule. Candidates must be able to
work within a 50-mile radius restriction and are expected to
maintain professional attire with navy blue scrubs for RNs.
Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on
a 52-bed all-private-room MedSurg unit. Manage patient assignments
with support from a Clinical Assistant and oversee CNA staff.
Administer and monitor medications including PCA with MSO4, heparin
drips (rare), and manage intermittent bipap, cpap, and high-flow
respiratory support. Collaborate with in-house hospitalists,
intensivists, IV teams, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy for
coordinated patient care. Participate in weekend and holiday
rotation schedules (every other weekend, 3 out of 6 weekends).
Utilize EMR Sunrise for documentation and patient management.
Provide support across other MedSurg and Oncology units as needed,
with potential to float to IMC for MedSurg overflow. Qualifications
and Desired Experience: Current RN license with experience in
Medical-Surgical and Oncology nursing. BLS certification required;
NIHSS certification required; ACLS certification is a plus.
Familiarity with post-op care for orthopedic, neuro, and general
surgical patients. Previous exposure to peritoneal dialysis
preferred. Ability to read telemetry strips is advantageous but not
mandatory. Comfortable working with a patient-to-nurse ratio of
