This position will cover the NW Indiana territory. Emergency
Equipment Field Service Technician Position Purpose:Responsible for
traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services
including inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair work, on
a wide range of fire apparatus equipment in a timely manner. A
positive and customer focused attitude is required.Schedule all
work to make the most efficient use of travel time and minimize
multiple trips to one locationAct as an ambassador of the company
at all times when in the fieldMaking sound maintenance and repair
recommendations to customers (through inspections)Collaborating
with the Unit Sales team as well as the Customer Support team on
various customer focused effortsBasic testing knowledge of all
machine systemsFollow all company safety policies and
proceduresDevelops and employs diagnostic related reasoning
skillsAssists in the collection of data necessary for efficient
inventory controlAttends local, regional, national service schools
and training sessions as requestedCompletes all paperwork required
for jobsConducts himself / herself at all times in a manner which
will retain a good opinion of the company and the service
departmentResponsible for operating customer equipment, when
required, in a safe mannerFollow all company safety policies and
proceduresUnderstand and follow federal, state and local
regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous
wastesRequirements: Emergency Equipment Field Service Technician
Skills and ExperienceMinimum 2-year Diesel Technology, Automotive
Technology or Heavy Equipment Technology degree or equivalent
experience5 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic,
and electrical systems or heavy equipment maintenance experience in
field preferredWelding and cutting torch experienceAbility to read
and comprehend instructions and informationContributes to
departmental and product line goalsAbility to work in all weather
conditionsRequires a valid driver's license and CDL health card,
possess or have ability to obtain a CDL B rating and the ability to
maintain an insurable driving recordOpportunities to perform a wide
variety of duties each day in a fast-paced environmentRequires
prolonged standing with periodic lifting, walking, standing,
bending, stooping, and stretchingRequires ability to push, lift,
pull and/or carry 50 lbs. or moreBe authorized to work in the
