The Structural Field Inspector will also act as a construction monitor during repairs or installation of structures and modifications resulting from the inspection findings.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare daily reports on information retrieved from on-site inspections.
  • Read site drawings and make changes accordingly based upon inspection results.
  • Keep current of the latest developments in equipment inspection standards, codes, practices, procedures, methods, inspection equipment, as applicable.
  • Provide technical support in resolving problems concerning inspection methods and procedures of completing work within the scope and intent of applicable codes and standards.Education, Experience and SkillsThe successful candidate will possess the following:
    • 5+ years of experience in heavy industry.
    • High school diploma or Associates degree preferred.
    • Valid driver---s license necessary, state certification preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
    • Demonstrate ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers, and height gages.
    • Familiar with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods, and processes.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized for effective project planning.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Physical RequirementsThe characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.       • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

      • Frequently use up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
