Job Description About AFC Transport AFC Transport is growing exponentially and is seeking a dynamic, detailed oriented Safety Coordinator to report to our Safety Director The Safety Coordinator will on-board our CDL Transportation Drivers, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, conduct new hire orientation, adhere to safety policies, and be a champion of safety compliance throughout the organization This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, hands-on and collaborative individual who is passionate about compliance and looking to grow within an amazing Team/Organization AFC Transport was ranked by FreightWaves Top 500 and Transport---s Top 100 Transportation companies Description of Position The Safety Coordinator is responsible for onboarding CDL drivers, collecting and validating pertinent data, and providing a positive on-boarding experience, while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations governing the business. The Safety Coordinator is to be sure that all onboarding aspects operate smoothly and are properly prepared for. This position does require accessibility on weekends at times, and will be part of a rotation in terms of managing after hours phone calls, in conjunction with other Team members, to ensure accessibility/compliance. Responsibilities and Expectations 100% completion of internal testing threshold of the drug and alcohol program Scheduling drug test for new hires Schedule random drug screens in a timely manner Potentially extend the stay of hotels or rental cars Ordering lunch for all orientees. Organize and coordinate with all departments for the orientation schedule Create and Maintain each new driver qualification file Collect all CDLs and medical cards from each new and existing driver before they expire. Maintain and update all Annual Violation Reviews, along with all Motor Vehicle Records. Keep compliant with all random drug screens and all Clearinghouse related items. Proficiency in HOS and ability to coach. Proficiency with the FMCSA regulations and new upcoming trends and regulations. Understand, explain and execute all leases to each new driver. Handle and address all citations, thorough documentation of progression in Google Sheets and forward appropriate adjudications for Dataq. Technical Skills - Preference to be proficient in Safety software Tenstreet McLeod Samsara (Preferred) Hire Right Qualifications and Skills Ability to work within a team environment Ability to work independently Must have a coachable attitude toward the Director of Safety and other superior roles Must have worked within the transportation industry Attention to detail is a must for this position Be able to inform, coach and discipline each driver as needed. Ability to know the FMCSA regulations along with company culture.
