Precision Turbo and Engine, a Wabtec Company, is one of the world's foremost manufacturers of high performance, aftermarket turbochargers located in Crown Point, Indiana. In addition to a line of high-performance turbochargers, wastegates, heat exchangers, and fuel injectors, we are also a top distributor for many other performance products such as fuel system components, stand-alone engine management systems, and data acquisition systems.

This is a Monday through Friday day shift role with some overtime required. Generous benefits package, 401k and paid time off are offered from first day of hire.

Summary: The Service Parts Washer performs cleaning and preparation of warranty and customer returned products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work at the direction of the Repair Department technicians to prioritize repair orders and remanufactured turbos.
  • Cleaning and reconditioning all turbocharger components.
  • Properly tracks repairs through SAP inventory control and invoicing, this includes accurately logging in and out of production orders to capture time spent on jobs.
  • Maintains records of repair and product applications for future reference.
  • Follows all Company personnel policies and process procedures.
  • Maintains friendly, cooperative relations with customers, company personnel and management.
  • Ensure that all internal company communications, financial information, pricing information, plans and strategies are kept confidential.
  • Organizes personal schedule to maximize productivity and time management.

    Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent. Automotive technical training preferred. Experience in automotive performance preferred.

    Computer Skills - Ability to track repair orders, quality control statistics, and inventory usage through database management systems.

    Physical Demands -

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

    Work Environment -

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will be required to use tools and equipment which will regularly expose them to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
