POSITION SUMMARY:
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Call Center Representative within Edgewaters Finance Department. This position supports our Finance Team by providing professional customer service to our patients. The Call Center Representative will be responsible for answering incoming patient calls, to schedule appointments for multiple providers and multiple locations. As the first point of contact for new patients and referring physicians offices, your role is critical to the success of the practice utilizing company policies to solve patient issues and directing issues to the Call Center Lead or Call Center Manager when necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Call Center Representative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Always maintains strict patient confidentiality
  • Schedules patient appointments according to acuity and diagnosis
  • Schedules patients for testing and appointments according to protocol
  • Assists with testing/referral follow up
  • Receives and directs all questions from patients
  • Receives and directs phone calls to appropriate personnel according to protocol
  • Assists patients with the completion of medical information forms
  • Performs financial transactions for patients
  • Obtains patient signatures for consent according to policy; verbally and/or electronically
  • Documents phone calls/conversations in EHR as needed according to protocol
  • Performs data entry
  • Assists in maintaining medical records according to policy
  • Assists in maintaining office equipment
  • Assists in maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the office
  • Assists other team members as needed
  • Directs patient complaints to appropriate personnel
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills
  • Responds to crisis situations according to policy
  • Maintains knowledge of EHR system along with Edgewaters policies and procedures
  • Attends all required department and staff meetings
  • Request supplies as needed
  • Utilize supplies in a cost-effective manner
  • Participates in organization committees as assigned
  • Must be familiar with the operation of all Edgewaters offices and willingness to assist at any location
  • Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG Guidelines, other State and Federal laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, and supervisor any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education High school diploma or HSE Equivalency
    • Must have experience in patient scheduling and customerservice
    • Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people
    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Ability to read and write in English
    • Data entry experience required
    • Knowledge of computers required

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Lifting: up to 30 poundsoccasional
      • Carrying: up to 30 pounds occasionally
      • Standing: 30-60 minutes at a time throughout the day
      • Walking: 5-10 minutes at a time throughout the day
      • Sitting: 15-120 minutes at a time throughout the day
      • Driving: 10 minutes to 4 hours at a time routinely
      • Vision: color distinction necessary
      • Hearing: no greater loss than 40dB average for 500, 1000, 2000 Hz
