Job Description:
A company is looking for a Facility Outpatient Coder who will
assign ICD10, CPT, and E&M codes based on health care record
documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Review outpatient health records and assign ICD10 diagnosis and
procedure codes
Assign Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes to specified
patient populations
Issue physician query forms to clarify documentation for accurate
code assignments
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
Prior experience with outpatient hospital ICD10 diagnosis, CPT
procedural, and E&M coding is desired
Completion of an Associate Degree in Health Information Management
or equivalent program with emphasis in coding is required
RHIT accreditation and/or certification in coding by a recognized
professional organization is required within 18 months of hire
Previous applicable experience is beneficial
Certification within 18 months of hire is required
