the Cat Digital Electrification Analytics team responsible in
supporting Caterpillar electrification efforts. Perform coding &
analytical work to support data-driven business decisions and
development of solutions.What You Will Do:
- Write reusable code, build resilient data pipelines, and use
standard practices such as version control standards like Git.
- Direct the data gathering, data mining, and data processing in
volume; create appropriate data models & simulation solutions.
- Define requirements; present and report insights to management
& stakeholders.
- Conduct research on data model optimization and algorithms to
improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.What You Will
Have:
- Programming Languages: Working knowledge of basic concepts and
capabilities applying Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, etc.)
programming; ability to use tools, techniques and platforms in
order to write and modify programming languages.
- Analytical Thinking: Working knowledge of techniques and tools
that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root
cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions
that resolve these problems.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive understanding the
necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with
high levels of precision.
- Requirements Analysis: Working knowledge of tools, methods, and
techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and
record required business functionality and non-functionality
requirements to ensure the success of a system or software
development project.Considerations for Top Candidates:
- Typically, Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Applied
Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence
& Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical,
Mechanical, Computer, Industrial, Agricultural, etc.), Information
Systems Management, Mathematics, MBA with Technical Undergrad,
Predictive Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent technical
degree.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration
skills.
- Typically, 7+ years of professional experience utilizing
quantitative analysis, or a Master's degree and 5+ years of
experience, or a PhD and 1+ years of experience in relevant
experience.
- Experience with advanced data analysis and statistical methods
such as regression, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, statistical process
control, etc.
- Experience in design / development of heavy equipment (ex.
automotive, aerospace, engine, transmission, construction, mining,
industrial, etc).
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of
continuous learning in the analytics field.
- Breadth and depth of knowledge in the application of
statistical and/or digital methods to solve business problems.
- Competency in coaching and mentoring junior Data Scientists in
the creation, validation, and application of statistical models as
well as in implementing digital solutions.
- Experience leading analytics projects connecting data from
various business domains and providing forecasts and insights to
run the business profitably.
- Practical knowledge of cloud computing and software development
for building solutions in cloud environments (Azure - preferred,
Snowflake, AWS, etc.).
- Strong initiative to research and apply new methods and digital
technologies to exceed customer expectations.What You Will

benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized
