Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tom. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions, Inc. About 95% of my time is spent 'customer facing'. That being said, I am going to be far more interested in 'fit' than anything else...a fit for you and a fit for the client. This also means that their are no 'layers' between me and any of my clients as well..I am direct to all my clients. I also like to add humor to these things, so if you see something that makes you chuckle, that was the intent.So, what creates a good 'fit' here, well...I am so very glad you asked:

  • This is a 'drama free' environment where egos are not the size of a planet. If you feel like the world revolves around you, just contact my buddy Mark Zuckerberg...I hear he's in need of a little ego boost.
  • There are no Mike Scott's in this environment (those Office fans out there know exactly what I am talking about). This means that everyone gets their work done, they have fun doing it, but their is limited 'corporate speak' here.
  • Everyone here works as a team...if you need help, their are people there to help you. This also means we are seeking that 'helper' personality as well...someone who enjoys helping others as well.
  • Individuals who take initiative. If you have an idea that can garner some improvement, share it, don't be shy. Take initiative in terms of learning new things, take initiative when it comes to training as well. This does not mean that you have to take initiative on everything yourself, you will have support to help you.This is a permanent role where you will be working at this companies Gary, Indiana office but also toggling to the Chicago Headquarters (they are about 30 minutes from one another).I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role. Unfortunately, I cannot work with H1b, EAD, OPT or Student Visa Holders for this role.Here is the Job Description:Help Desk Support TechnicianSkill Set Needed: We are looking for a Help Desk Technician that in a relatively small environment (their are about 200 users in Chicago and about 200 in Gary). You are not going to be alone, however...there is a Help Desk Manager that you will be reporting to as well as a couple help desk contractors you will be working with as well. Perhaps the most interesting part of this role are the new things you will be getting involved in. This client is going through a lot of new transformations...they are moving to Azure, upgrading their ERP, and bringing on more cyber security technology. So, you will play a key role in these new things...so, if you want to expand your skills and learn new things, this will be the environment to do it in (they are replacing their security infrastructure, routers, switches and firewalls as well). You will be involved in learning these new technologies along with the rest of the team.If you have a good desk side manner and work well in a diverse environment where there is a great amount of activity, and have great communication and troubleshooting skills, we should talk.We are seeking individuals that can accomplish the following tasks:
    • Troubleshooting of all those nifty things that most great help desk technicians work on (routers, switches, fun desktop work, etc...)
    • Track and route problems and requests and document resolution.
    • Setup and configure PC's for new users.
    • General Microsoft Server troubleshooting (AD, OS, etc)
    • Add, delete and maintain voicemail boxes for users.
    • Password resets.
    • Active Directory / Network Folder New User Account setup.
    • Most importantly, we are looking for someone that can work well in a tight knit team environment that wants everyone to succeed.
    • Desire to learn more about cool stuff like Azure, Security Infrastructure, ERP systems and so on.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:
