Academic Physicians - Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology Program LeaderSalary Range: Associate Professor: $343,976 - $426,181 per year; Professor: $418,585 - $508,649 per yearThe University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology/Oncology, and the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center are searching for a full-time faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor on the School of Medicine track to serve as the Gastrointestinal Cancer Program Leader. The appointee will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction in close partnership with institutional leadership to advance clinical excellence, research, innovation, programmatic growth, and multidisciplinary collaboration in gastrointestinal oncology. The appointee will have weekly clinic sessions focused on GI oncology and attend on inpatient services at our Hyde Park campus. The appointee will be expected to have a strong record of scholarly research, with an emphasis on clinical and translational investigation, including the development and leadership of clinical trials and other activities that contribute to advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies. Other duties will include the teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be BC/BE in Oncology.
